Safety Disc
Safety discs aka burst discs or rupture discs are designed to protect fully charged cylinders, vessels or bottles from overpressurization due to fire, excessive heat and/or overfilling.
Safety discs, rupture discs are used in many industries. There is "no size fits all" for rupture discs. The materials used in the manufacture of safety discs and rupture discs depend not only on the pressurized gas(es), but also the materials used in the manufacture of the valve.
Depending on its end use, rupture discs are manufactured to CGA specifications as well as PED specifications if applicable.
